Central Wyoming College Student Ambassadors are fundraising for People of Courage, a fund set up to help students in need.
“We want to give back to our fellow students and do something that can really help them,” said Courtney Olsen a CWC Ambassador helping to organize the event.
The students are hosting an arts and crafts fair on Saturday, April 30, from 9am-4pm.
“Right now we are looking for all kinds of vendors to sell arts and crafts items at our event,” said Abbey Morales who is also a CWC Student Ambassador. Vendors will pay a $30 table fee that will go towards the People of Courage fund. Vendors keep all of their own proceeds from the event. Applications for a booth can be filled out online.
Last year the students chose to fund-raise for Paws for Life and raised more than $700.
“We chose to fund-raise for each other this year, to show our support for one another,” Morales said. The People of Courage Endowment is sponsored by the Central Wyoming College Foundation. The endowment has been created with the goal of helping students who are unable to pay for books, tuition, food, medical expenses and a plethora of other needs. CWC students who need aid from the People of Courage fund can go to Student Services and apply to see if they qualify. The financial support varies but students may be eligible to receive a one-time gift of up to $300.
The Ambassadors have set a goal of raising $600 this semester. If you are interested in being a vendor to help support this great cause visit http://bit.ly/1U8OlNh
