Central Wyoming College and the Department of Workforce Services hosted an employment expo yesterday in the Arts Center Gallery where more than 25 Fremont County businesses and military branches visited with attendees who were from the Wind River Job Corps, local high schools and community members.
“This event was well attended this year and people made some great connections with potential employers,” said Anne Even, workforce trainer at CWC.
About 250 people attended the employment expo that was sponsored by SageWest Health Care. Even said they added a series of workshops to this year’s expo to help people improve their job search skills. The series included resume writing, interview tips and tricks and Wyoming at work, where people could learn how to use the Wyoming at Work website to find a job.
“The workshops were a great addition in 2016, and this is a service that we will provide again in the future,” Even said. “It is important that there is an opportunity for community members to meet with a large number of employers in one location. It provides community members with a lot of great options for employment.”
