Ambassadors raise funds to help other students in need

The student Ambassadors raised more than $250 during their fundraiser last night in the Central Wyoming College gym. The group hosted a bake sale and volleyball tournament which was open for CWC students, employees and the community to participate.

Eight teams participated and the winning team was Swat Team, a group of students and community members that CWC student Kenisha Muehler put together. The top three teams won prizes with the winning team receiving CWC tshirts and a gift certificate for pizza.

The bake sale had a variety of baked goods including Italian sodas which also helped raise money for the group. All funds raised during the event will go towards People of Courage, an endowment through the CWC Foundation that helps CWC students in need.

“This was a great event for everyone inside and outside of the CWC community,” said Maygen Cassity, adviser for student ambassadors. “The students coordinated the entire event from the idea to publicity, to organizing and working the event. It was a great success and I think this is something we might consider doing annually. Everyone really enjoyed it and we received great feedback from those who participated.”
